ATLANTIC CITY (May 3, 2008) _ The 2008 Beach Book Festival has named Dr. Thienna Ho’s “Unlocking The Mystery Of Skin Color” as the grand prize winner of its annual competition honoring the hottest reads of the summer season. The meticulously-researched book tackles the controversial question of whether skin color is fixed or can be changed to a remarkable degree without using drugs, chemicals and steroids. More than a how-to, the book explores the world’s eons-long fascination with skin color, and provides some startling photos of people who have changed the color of their skin – including the author! Ho’s work has earned her the festival’s grand prize of $1500 and a week-long stay at the Larimar St. Croix Writer’s Retreat in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
